C.E.C announce the addition of Foam Carved seating to there product range.

Foam Carved Seating

Two piece seating system made from carved foam.

The Foam carved seating system is started by taking a mould of the clients body shape using casting bags, once this is complete a plaster cast of the clients shape is taken and this becomes the template for the new seat.

Unlike other manufacturers, using a plaster cast ensures safe transport to our workshop facilities without the worry of casting bag malfunctions, the cast can also be kept for comparison with the newly delivered seat. The seating position you see at the first appointment is fully replicated into the final product.

Another benefit of this process enables us to produce Foam Carved seating without the need for a interim fit appointment, thus keeping costs down and only requiring the client to attend two appointments.

Foam carved seating can be made with various different grades of foam and if required can also incorporate additional pressure relieving materials such as gel pads.

The foam seating is protected by a waterproof membrane and then covered with a upholstered seat cover which are available in a wide range of colours.

Seating appointments can be undertaken at a NHS wheelchair clinic, Day centre, or at a clients home address.

Foam Carved seating can be produced in conjunction with the Matrix backrest creating a Hybrid seat. This allows for a greater degree of postural support and can also be a benefit for clients with heat retention problems.
